In this episode, we learn about the brilliant Professor Gast and his research on the Cetra. Afterwards, we get ready for some snowboarding. This episode is a little bit of an experiment on my part. Usually, I like to talk more and go through the fine details a lot faster, but I thought I’d do the opposite this time. It seemed important enough to go through it slowly and really enriches the backstory of the game, IMHO. Let me know how you think I handled it. For some reason, I picture the person who does Aeris’s voice (in Kingdom Hearts) doing Ifalna’s voice.
Maybe Hojo’s ancestor somehow is responsible for Jenova’s arrival and destruction of the Cetra.
Gast was a great man who cared for his family and wanted to help humanity. Even Sephiroth respected him.
Hojo is a sadistic maniac, a “walking mass of complexes”, who is responsible for every single bad thing that ever happens in the world of FFVII (except for Jenova’s initial arrival, but Hojo was not born yet).
Gast deserved a better successor than Hojo.

It’s the SHORTEST PlayStation Final Fantasy. FFVIII and FFIX are both 4 discs each. And FFVIII isn’t as good, imo.

No, they didn’t retcon it, it was simply a translation error. In the japanese version, it says that he lived.
Yeah, I think originally, they were planning for Tseng to be killed at the Temple of the Ancients, either by the wound Sephiroth gave him, or by being crushed because he didn’t have the strength the move. They then re-wrote it so that in Advent Children, he actually did manage to escape, but we never find out how (which adds to his mysterious vibe).

I beat emerald pretty easily…..ruby was by luck since he killed 2 of my party members……
